Dr Kim Freeman
Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Kim is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, young people and their families. She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of emotional and mental health difficulties, alongside specialist neurodevelopmental assessments for autism and ADHD.
Having spent many years working within NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Kim now works in private practice. Her approach is warm, holistic and strengths-led, with a strong emphasis on understanding each child or young person as an individual.
Alongside her therapeutic work, Kim works with an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive autism and ADHD assessments. Assessments consider not only neurodevelopmental differences, but also a young person's emotional wellbeing, mental health, strengths, relationships and experiences at home and school.

Understanding the whole child
Kim's approach is warm, holistic and strengths-led. Understanding a child or young person means looking beyond a diagnosis to consider their individual strengths, emotional wellbeing, mental health, relationships, development and experiences at home and school.
This approach is central to both Kim's therapeutic and neurodevelopmental work. Autism and ADHD assessments consider the whole clinical picture, including where emotional or mental health difficulties may overlap with a young person's presentation.
The aim is not simply to establish whether diagnostic criteria are met, but to develop a meaningful understanding of the individual child or young person.
Recommendations are developed specifically for each young person, taking account of their particular strengths, needs and circumstances. Reports are strengths-led and individualised rather than providing a generic set of recommendations based upon a diagnosis.
